Your photo is deleted within 24 hours

The photo you upload is used to paint your portrait and is then deleted from our storage within 24 hours. It is not published, not sold, and never used to train AI. To make the portrait we send it to the image service that does the painting; they receive it for that one purpose.

There is one exception, and only you can make it. If you tick the box asking us to show your original photo next to your portrait, we keep that photo for that purpose. Nothing else keeps it, and you can write to us at any time to have it removed.

What we keep, and for how long

We hold your finished portrait for a while — not forever. Long enough that you can come back to one you liked, and so we can send it to you if you buy it. We clear out old portraits as a matter of course, and we do not promise to keep any of them.

So if you love one, buy it or save it rather than leaving it with us. A portrait cannot be recreated — the painter is not repeatable, so the one you liked exists once. If you ask us to hold on to a particular portrait, we will.

It lives at an unlisted address. It is not in any public gallery, and it is not indexed by search engines, unless you tick the box that asks to feature it.

You can have it deleted. Email lara@yourlikeness.app and we will remove your portraits and your email address. No reason needed, no form to fill in.

Your email address

We ask for it after a few free portraits. If you give it, we use it to send you your portraits, to tell you about new styles, and occasionally to make you an offer. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can write to us instead. We do not sell or rent it.

Cookies, and the counter

One cookie identifies your browser so we know how many free portraits you have made. If you arrive through somebody's referral link, a second cookie remembers who sent you, for 60 days. There is no advertising tracking on this site.

We also count portraits per internet address each day, to stop automated abuse running up our costs. That is a daily tally, not a history of what anyone made.

Children

This is not a service for children to use. Please only upload a photo of someone else — including a child — if you have the right to, and their permission where they can give it.
